Hi guys, just wondering is it easy to access a doctor in Spain, i am hoping to move but i have some medical conditions that require medication. Just wondering how would i navigate that situation in Spain. Love your channel, watching from Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi, thanks for watching! Karen here - I’m the same, I moved to Spain with pre-existing conditions that require ongoing medication too. It is pretty easy, and a lot better than the NHS with regards to getting doctor appointments and prescriptions. It depends if you will be entitled to public health in Spain or on a visa that requires private medical insurance. I’ve used both and can’t fault them. If your Spanish isn’t great, it’s easy enough to find a private doctor who speaks English. I guess that might vary in different areas though. Public health doctors don’t always speak English so you might need a translator at first but again, that depends on the area. I discovered my meds don’t require a prescription here (lots of prescription meds in the UK don’t require a script in Spain), I just go to the farmacia and they issue it and I get my bloods done at the local doctor. Once I joined the public health system, I got my little card and just show the farmacia that. All your records are stored so it’s very efficient and easy to do. Public hospitals are amazing and the service in general is very good, one of the best in the world. Most doctors are simply walk-in appointments on the day. It’s brilliant. Your bloods are done by a nurse or your doctor and the results are always very quick, generally the next working day, if not the same day. They all seem to use a text message system to confirm and remind you about appointments as well, so you can translate messages with your phone. Super simply! If I can answer any specific questions feel free to message me through my Instagram account.
Think property prices have went up 40% plus over the last 4 years and still rising, regardless where you want to live \ try out, you should have bought and then you can rent when moving on , this would pay for your future moves and money grows faster... I dont see house prices coming down , with so many migrates , rents will for sure go up... keep the videos coming...cheers

I truly miss my family, im a grestgrandmother from Ireland, ive got 5 children 12 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren. And 3 sisters. They were always around me back in Ireland now i live here its more difficult. Its the hardest part of living here for me. And yes i miss friends one in particular. Flying back is too hard so ive given that up. Sometimes i wish i had a place id left back home so i could go back especially in the hottest months like we are in now.love your vlogs ❤

A very interesting video. People have also forgotten about " las checas" here in Spain (places where people, many completely innocent, were detained, tortured and murdered during the Spanish Civil War) "Las checas" were named after the Russian secret police force.

Think it’s up to the individual. People form all over the world and different cultures refer to themselves as either expat or immigrant when they live in another country. Both very common terms.

yes, here in New Brunswick Canada we have lots of forest and mosquitos, and that's what we use. (We have racket bug zapper too) By the way I am enjoying and learning a lot about Spain that I don't see on the regular travel videos. The construction going on is surprising. Yes, taxi is about 15 minutes into the city, but you can also get a bus. Every 20 mins and you’re in the city centre / beach in 30 minutes.
